It has just been an unbelievable local fishing season here in Southern California because of the 2015 El Nino. Blue marlin, Spearfish, Wahoo and Tuna have all been caught on the half-day sport boats and only a few miles from shore. This is something that even the old timers have never seen in thier life times!
Here we are in the final week of November and yellowfin tuna and skipjack tuna are just plugging the boats fish holds. Most are small, but there are some quality fish in the mix. All of these fish have been caught in cell phone range to shore which makes it even more incredible. On this black friday, the tuna bit so well, most boats were done by 9:00 am and came home early.
Be sure to read up on Latimeria’s trip (artificial only) and got it done with some some Ahi for Thanksgiving appetizers.
