FG Knot

The FG knot I think is the best spectra to fluoro/mono knot.  It's very strong and will not slip when tied right. It is low profile and will go thru your guides easily.  Since I've started using it offshore and surf fishing, I've never had one failure.  I've busted 50lb topshot hooked up to surf monsters many times but the knot always held.  There are many ways to tie this knot and it's a bit confusing.  I made a video of how I tie this knot and I believe this is the easiest way and least confusing.  I recommend you do at least 20 twist and longer half hitches for strength.   This is the preferred knot used by GT fishermen. Practice and try it out next time you go surf fishing or offshore. Below is the link to the video.

I remember the cat's cradle game with string as a kid. Yikes!  :P :P

Actually looks like a pretty cool knot.

Question - moving? Or just purchased?

Or is that just a really nice knot tying room? ...  :P :P :P

After watching Ramon use it for over a year I started using it a few months ago. Very low profile and has yet to fail, Verne

Dude!  That's a long move.  Good luck and post up some GT pics here when you get 'em so we could all drool over our keyboards!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Yup.  I'll definitely post my fishing sessions in the Philippines here.  Gonna explore that place and find some consistent honey holes.  I'll still be going back in sunny California maybe twice a year to visit my kids and most likely hop on one of those long range trips.  I already know lots of anglers in the Philippines so that'll be a good start to find some good locations.  Also plan to fish other places in Asia like Australia, Guam, and New Zealand.  Pic of my friend in the Philippines with a nice GT.
