Monster Diamond Stingray – The bay fishing for rays has been getting slower and slower for some reason and less and less time are used to to hunt down these critters for a little fun CPR. The Saturday Night Bat Fight the last 3 years has shown how tough things have been getting, but every spring, the big pregnant Bats, Diamonds, and Butterfly Rays make their way back in the bay to give birth.
Rasta tried to escape the heat and decided to soak some bait down at the bay to escape the heat wave that has set in on Southern California. Boy, was he rewarded with a huge Diamond Stingray about as big as they get! The All Tackle World Record is 102 pounds, but this one appears to eclipse that number by a good 20 pounds or more! We’ll never know, but props to Josh for getting her turned back after a few pics to have her babies.
