Looking for a rod.

Got a good deal on a Cardiff 400a. Just seemed like I needed one. Looking for a rod to go with it.

Things I imagine doing with it:
Occasional bass, calico or sand.
Shallow rockfish.
Maybe megabaits type iron for cuda or bonito.
Drift for halibut?

Planning to fill it with 30lb braid and short mono topshot of say 20lb.

What you got that you used to love but have left behind for the latest and greatest.
Not looking to drop over a hundo.
