Firing Up the Smoker before the Rain
« on: January 31, 2024, 07:38:00 AM »
Man, I see rain on the weather map for the next 10 days, so I pulled out the rest of my BFT and started to marinade them.  I also deboned a bunch of the trout and have that prepped also to fill up the chamber.

I'll will be firing up the pit when I get home from work today!  Meanwhile while the fish is smoking, I'll be doing rain gutter repair and building berms to run the water away from the house.

Pics to come later!

Wow…non stop rain Mon-Fri next week. Wild.

I’ve hyped the hell out of tomorrow’s conditions in my head for a striper. Gonna be brutal actually standing in it. .3” of rain per hour and 30mph winds.

Enjoy that seafood. My lady has been making sushi bake with the bluefin lately which has been really good.

I brought up about 6 wheelbarrow loads of oak firewood from the wood pile, put 3 in the Shop and 3 under the patio so the wood stove will be going nonstop :) My Orange Grove is loving the rain but so do the weeds  :(

Crap...  Not only did my plastic gutters come apart at the seams from all of the water, but they literally snapped in half in 2 places!  I have some white Gorilla duck tape that I layered on there, so hopefully it holds.  Too much to do and found out my granddaughter was coming over so I didn't take many pictures.

It was also so windy that my smoker took a little longer to get it to the temp I was looking for, but in the end, it came out great!
