A Week of Weather
« on: January 29, 2024, 05:41:46 AM »
Holy shnikey's!  It looks like a week of weather/rain is descending upon us starting Friday.

Well, I guess there will quite a bit of "Inside the Cab" fishing for trout coming up!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Damn it.... I also forgot my gutters came apart at the last storm from all of the weight of the water off the roof.  I definitely have to fix that, but I also got invited on a lobster trip so need to squeeze that in too.

The rain will make the ''Crawl'' better so that's a good thing :)  On a side note, I got my actual Boater Card in the mail on Saturday, only took a little over a month 8)

Are we gonna have a Striper Race? I see a really nice window for it.

I already have 2 Stripers off of Torrey Pines surf, so this is a 2024 race?  ;)

Tommy mentioned that Black Canyon Trout Farm is the source of trout with orange meat, maybe what you caught Tom. I don't wanna f with white meat farm trout but he gave me a few lakes to go that take stockings from there, so maaaaaybe I'll try some trout hugging soon. Not too many stocks left to try.

I'm pretty sure they are Mt Lassen trout, but those Black Canyon ones look awesome! I would love to catch some stocker Cutties!

I'll probably fish SL on Thursday in the rain if you're interested.  lol

Nonstop this week. How do I know it’s raining in SoCal? The nonstop flash flood notifications from Accuweather app. Op! Got one just now, no lie.

No fishing, but still lots to do at in the backyard, rain or shine. I've been grafting fruit tree seedlings. About a 50% success rate. Been grafting some tropical fruit trees (mangoes, sapote, guava, cherimoya) and the normal stuff (avocado, apple, peach, oranges). Hoping to get better at it soon. Takes a while to get mini trees from seeds as root stock. I've also been air-layering fruit trees to get immediate clones. Loquats are easy, everything I suck at. My new China made green house has been helped tremendously. Keeps me dry during the rain and keeps tropical trees happy, warm and humid.
