Damn, I love all the rods that Len wrapped, but I'm still overwhelmed from the Batson big bent butt!  That Avet 50W on top holds a lot of braid, and I decided to pack it on the reel myself.



130# 16-strand Hollowcore... I'm not sure how much I got on, but it holds just around 1,000 yards of 130.   The only bummer is I had to order a 4-bolt HD reel clamp since the 2-bolt doesn't fit (Squeeze between the bolts) on my monster bent butt which is truthfully probably for an 80W.  In any case, new bolts and a clamp for this ~cost $80.  I can't believe there are no knock offs out there, but I can't go half ass at this point so I ordered it.    Man Len, you did some nice work on this rod!



Now I just need to add blue gold to the other end...

How much mono are you putting on top? Any reason you went with a 50w. Vs the topless 80 narrow?

Price point.  Basically, the Avet 50 caught us some nice BFT last year, but we had a few close calls trolling the WWB spreaders with it.  We needed a few more hundred yards of line to feel really confident.  I didn't want to go to an 80 for pricing reasons, but liked the 50W and got a killer deal on it.  I wasn't expecting the rod butt that Bill Batson sent to me to be classed for an 80W or 130.  I mentioned I was putting a 50W on it, but he sent me the monster bent butt and I won't complain one bit.  It's worth having to buy the expensive reel clamp.

I just installed the new 4 T-Rex 4-pin reel seat.  This rod/reel combo is a beast....
