Last trip of the year and my body was still a wreck from the last trip. I got the call and had to go one last time, but we switched it up this time.
First pulled hoop in the set we got 2 legals...Then it just kept getting better.
The first set netted us 7 legals and 34 lobster total.
The second set netted us 66 lobster total with 9 keepers.
Third drop, we were worried about some drunk dude with his wife and kid in the boat just ripping around the bay and seriously putting everyone at risk. Anyway, that's a story for another time.
So we pulled and dropped really fast and got 38 with only 2 legals that were switched out with two smaller legals. Only got 39 this pull.....
Last pull of the night and the current was picking up which meant the crawl was starting to quiet down. We only got 12 and 2 keepers which went back. Actually we switched two females to release for the two males as we need the girls to have a lot of babies for the future bug seasons.
151 total in 4 sets. We were on the freeway at midnight which was even better! But, man... My back was killing me. I needed some good meds this morning along with some ice. lol
Last hoopin trip of the year was a great success. We split some really nice bugs and it made up for the last 3 years of basically hooping for nothing.
We got a couple of toads we split. This will be some fantastic eating!
