Last of the Bluefin
« on: December 28, 2022, 06:03:01 PM »
So, I saved a PRIMO bluefin tuna loin for my folks when they came into town.  They didn't want big steaks, so I said I'd make some seared bluefin for an appetizer.   The damn loin was so big, I had to cut it down into 6 pretty big pieces to fire up.

After a quick sear, I put it on ice to chill, and then wrapped them to chill even more.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the pictures after the slicing, but it fed 8 of us and there was nothing left.

I get a few months break from tuna now as I don't think I can eat another piece, but I'm looking forward to the BFT hunts to come to replenish the stock!

Hope to fill the freezer with some in 2023, though from what bluefin I have had, I kinda prefer YFT. Need to catch an extra fresh one to taste and confirm though.
