Back in 2002 when I first moved to Santee, there was an older gentleman in his mid 90's that lived next to me. He was forced to sell his house and move into a home via his kids, but he gave me something and told me to keep it. He said it was his great grandmother's and the kids would just throw it out. I asked him what it was, but he just waddled off and never answered. I thought it would be easy to find out, but the internet was very young back then and information was still hard to come by for certain genre.
I put it in my attic and have occasionally looked, but pretty much forgot about it until I was putting away my Halloween decorations and saw it.
If it was his great grandmother's and he was 95, I'm assuming it was from sometime in the 1800's minimum.
After some research, I got a hit..... an antique leather stretcher. Funny thing was I saw it yesterday online, but today I can't find it. I should have taken a screen shot or something.
From the size of it, I'm assuming it had something to do with equestrian related but if anyone has any info, I'd be grateful for any intel.
Thanks guys!
