I'll post up the story when I get home from work. Too many beverages yesterday to post what what happened on Saturday.

Saturday, conditions were just right. Small swells and light wind. Warm temps and clean water. First bummer was my gas gauge was broken, so that sucked having to "guess" how much fuel I had left.
We grabbed a 1/2 scoop of HUGE dines. Also a bummer was seeing a sign at the receivers saying October 1st there was a bait price increase too.
We decided to head north rather than head south. Once again, there was clean water and I wanted to stay away from the crowds.
We found a few small paddies that were loaded with tiny yellowtail. Like our sardines were as big as the yellows. Then there was a huge fish that just threw water by the paddy, but we never got eyeballs on it. Steve chucks a sardine out and he's on! This was a big fish! It kind of lazily swam around and I don't think it knew it was hooked, but every once in a while shake his head and you could tell this was a BIG ONE! Then it runs and Steve says "It just dumped half my spool", so I started to slowly move in it's direction. Steve buttoned the drag down and finally got it to turn and it bum rushed the boat. Steve got a lot of line back, when it happened. Pink! Gone...
He blames me taking pictures while he was fighting it of course.
It'll be a mystery, but one thing for sure was it was a big something. That splash it made feeding really pushed some water around, but disappointed we didn't even see what it was.
When the clouds burned off, it was a killer day out there.
We found a few more paddies, but nothing was home, but we used a good amount of bait trying to find out.
I had my new sterling spreader bar and had one quick short strike, but that was it for the day.
Since I didn't know how much gas I had left, we headed back and surprisingly a little later than we usually get in. The most action we saw all day was in the bay.
I do miss the old bay...
