Bad Pig Giving Thanks
« on: December 01, 2021, 09:49:50 AM »
Well, it was that time of year again, Thanksgiving, time for Bad Pig to take us to our favorite campground in the desert (Stagecoach Trails) 8) We had to stop at Lake Henshaw cause my buddy was having towing issues with his motorhome and Jeep :( The lake sure is low :( :(

After the delay, we made it to our spot, we got the group site this time :) The ladies wasted no time grabbing a table and chatting away ;D

Thursday  was Turkey Day so we set up shop in a small cabin that comes with the site. You never know what the weather will do out there, so having the cabin was better than cramming 14 people in my trailer like years past ;)

The weather was beautiful, 75 all day and no wind 8) 8) We took advantage of the weather and decided to take a drive to our spot in the desert and blow some sh*t up ;D 8) My buddy Joe and Aaron began mixing the Tannerite 8) 8)

The rest of us set up the tables and got ready.

Targets were set up and it was ''BOOM'' time

There was no way I was shooting anything rifle wise after shoulder surgery, so it was 9mm and .380 for me  :-[

Everyone had a ''BLAST'' especially when the Tannerite went off, that is some serious stuff. Someone got it on video but I need to find it ;)

Saturday was Leftover day for food and my kitchen was a bare minimum set up this year, a BBQ and a Dutch Oven, that's all I need anyway ;D 8)

A big camp fire and an Apple/Berry Cobbler to end the weekend, Perfect 8) 8)

Got up early Sunday and beat the crowd coming home, cleaned up the rig and she is ready for a Lake Skinner trip 8) Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving ! :) :)

Bad Pig Perfection! I'm always jealous of your big camper trips. Well done Tim!

Thanks, guys. After camping in a tent or in the back of my truck, we decided 20 years ago to get a toy hauler with all the comforts of home, too old to be ''roughing'' it ;)

Man, was that Lake Henshaw?  It is low if so!

Stagecoach trails... is that in Anza Borrego?  Last year I was doing a desert trip and think I saw signs for it, but was too tired and it was getting dark by then to go investigate.

Yep Lake Henshaw is really low.  The Campground is in Shelter Valley, it's between Borrego and Julian, the old Butterfield Stage Route
