I couldn't get the boat fixed in the driveway, so called the boat repair shop.   Well, there goes the summer... They can't get me in until August 31.

That sucks…might be worth shopping for repair services outside of your area if the waitlist is that long?

I haven't had a chance to call yet Rasta.  I think I'm going to try one last thing and see if that works.  If it doesn't, then I'll probably contact him right after the holiday weekend.
Once again, thanks for the number.

I can't keep it running and have no idea why.  I've electrically tested it and found it's losing power for a split second which seems to be causing the issue, but I'm not sure.  My neighbors are probably tired of hearing me start that thing up and running it all the time as I'm trying to trouble shoot the issue....

Oh well, the search continues...

Wish I had a clue on how to deal with these things. You're brave for trying.

I've unhooked and reattached every wire I could reach. I'm taking a $100 gamble on something that seems to be working on the motor, but found it was a problem with very similar issues while researching. I've been through a thousand posts, and hope this is it. Otherwise, it's still a month away for the Curmudgeon's appointment. Ugh.

With the amount of stress this motor has given you, I’d be seriously considering selling my left kidney and just get a new motor. I’m not sure how you’ve handled dealing with this for so long. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you Tom.

Last ditch effort, but not a waste as the old solenoid seems to have some crap in the vacuum lines and seems a bit corroded/worn.

Installed and fingers crossed...

Started up just fine and purred like a kitten for about 5 minutes.  I turned up the throttle to get the RPM's up to about 3000, and within a minute, the alarm was beeping and the motor cutting out.  I'm now 99.999% sure it's the electrical problem causing this and electrical isn't my thing.  I can't isolate where the power loss is coming from since I can't hook my motor up to the computer, so it looks like I'll be waiting until my appointment on August 31st.

Sucks I'm missing out on all the squid bed fishing... ugh, oh well.

Motor is cleaned up and spotless now for what that's worth.  lol

I know a mobile mechanic that works on Merc's, he has been to my house a few times, If you want to give him a call he might be able to help you out. PM me if you want his name and number, I know it's a long shot at this point.
