Happy Thanksgiving
« on: November 26, 2020, 09:49:01 AM »
I just want to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

My neighbor hooked me up with a fresh batch of home made moonshine yesterday, so It's going to be a long day.  I'm just hoping I get my appetite back in time for the bird coming out of the oven... oye vey....

He also makes a top shelf bourbon. Holy crap is it good! Too much shine and bourbon last night. I can't remember much.

Not a bourbon fan, but I enjoyed the moonshine.

For whatever reason, I can cook an awesome turkey.  I can't figure how my beef/steaks always come out only pretty good, but my turkey always comes out awesome.  I get my seafood almost always coming out in the upper 10%, but the turkey?  I swear whether I smoke, bake, or deep fry it.... I always seem to be there to pull it out at the right time.  Hmmm, maybe there is something to that???  hahahahahaha

Beef however, I always feel like it's a crap shoot.  Even with a thermometer always gauging, it never seems consistent.

Nice.

My wife cooks a mean turkey too. This year was a total fire drill with it coming to temp an hour before she calculated. There was a scramble to get the sides together including the obligatory store run for the one ingredient that got forgotten or run out of.

Ended up being perfect.

Did a repeat yesterday at a friends and almost fell asleep on their couch.
