Location for mackeral
« on: March 20, 2018, 04:30:19 PM »
Hi All,
New to the site here and want to go make some bait tomorrow. Anybody know if they are on the cheek at any of the piers? Was going to hit IB first then work my way North, Shelter Island then O.B. Thanks in advance and tight lines to all.

You have the right idea. I know OB and Shelter have been good for macks early in the morning or night time.

Thanks Pinoyfisher, I think I'll reverse my game plan and hit OB at O dark thirty tomorrow morning and save the sun up for Shelter Island if I get skunked at OB. Then hit IB on the way back to the house.  Tight lines to ya

Just my .02 cents but Shelter Island is way less crowded and more productive at night.
It's all Tom and Don's fault! They "hooked" me on mud marlins and sharks!

Those both are two great plans.  Can't go wrong with either one.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Thanks for the input guys got called into work as I was headed out the door ugh. Well looks like it's gonna be tomorrow. Hopefully the rain holds off for a bit. Need the fresh bait to break in my new long rod setup. Tight lines to ya. If the Macs are on the cheek I'll let you know. Thanks again
