I throw medium-big chunks.

Nothing huge.

I've done best with tails and mid sections.

Same here.  Come to think of it, I think I've only had one hook up on a mac head.  All the rest have come on mid sections.

Funny, I've had more success with the head portion. It stays on hook pretty well during casting. Tail section too.

Yes, the head has always been my favorite since it stays on so well but I really don't get as many bites on it. I use the elastic thread on the mid sections and that gives me more confidence during the cast.
