New AO
« on: September 19, 2016, 07:50:11 AM »
Set out at O'Dark Thirty to try a new spot at the new AO. Love this place, but it's a hike getting to anything and the trip back uphill kicks my sorry old ass. The spot we wanted to work originally was covered in salad, so we pushed further down the beach and found another great looking area. This place has so much structure it's insane, just wish we could fish it after dark. Surf was flat and conditions ideal. Hooked up first cast and pretty much every cast, but mostly small excuse me round rays. It was a clean the beach day, and there were a lot of people walking up and down the beach looking for trash. There really wasn't any. One lady got aggressive and wanted to take our bait bag just to pick up something!

Lots of baby lobster shells on the beach. Lots of critters. We know this place produces decent bats and leos, although they haven't showed in awhile. Can't wait for the big boys and girls to return so we can pull on something manly again.

In the meantime, some pics:

Also, due to the MPLA regs, most people are under the impression you can't fish there :D

Right on Chip!  That looks like a great spot.  Lots of tasty critters there for sure... and perfect size fish for you to catch.  I'm note sure if you wouldn't break in two if a real fish grabbed that ugly stick!  (Sorry, just having a little fun with you)  lol
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
