Promising conditions but no fish. 

Best cat bait out there is bluegill or carp and I had neither. Saw activity in a small canal that I hoped were bluegill were actually tiny cats not more than like 8" long. Caught a few with the panfish rig crossing my fingers that some panfish were in there but no dice.

The canal was full of drifting weeds so it felt like Tuesday but on a much smaller scale.

Bummer Jim.  I have to admit, I'm glad I styed and fished the surf. 

Actually, I worked on the house all day and had kid duty before getting a chance to slip out.  Otherwise I would have taken you up on the offer.
