Happy belated birthday and yeah, it always sounds like a great idea at the time. I spent most of Sunday regretting the bottle + can of wine I drank while cooking Saturday. Oh yeah, and I think I made a nightcap for myself too.  :o

Michael,
Just ordered my signed copy!  Can't wait to read it!

Awesome, Chad, appreciate the support. My wife has been helping me with the signed mailouts, and she said it went out yesterday. I hope you find something new in there you like, and enjoy revisiting some old stories.

Now that this book is under my belt, I'm sorta scratching my head wondering what to do next. On a fishing forum, I think you all can appreciate what I came up with: go fishing! (once we get above freezing, lol)

I remember those! The motorcycle shot has to be one of the best photoshops ever. The good old days.

Thanks for the teaser Michael!  I loved it!
That took a different turn that your others and I liked the surprise, well done!

Tx, Chad. Yep, occasionally I do some happy endings. Otherwise it just gets too depressing, lol.  ;D

Yes, CDA.  That would be great Michael, let me know when you're heading this way!

Will do. I'll be in Butte for a book signing in May, and possibly Missoula after that. I know both places are still a ways from CDA, but if you're heading east during that time, might work.

A teaser from the collection, out today in one of my favorite journals (based loosely on a time when a camping buddy and I almost froze to death!):

This is great Michael!  Stoked for you!
I loved the trailer  :D

Every couple of months I search around for new stuff from you, love reading it and can't wait to get the paperback!

I'm not in CA anymore, finally got out and  moved to north Idaho, not too far from you.  Only had the flyrod out once so far, but plan to do a lot more this summer.

Glad you're doing well!

Thanks for keeping up with the pubs and your continued support, Chad. It was slow last year with only six new stories, but that's because I was so consumed with the collection. Now that it's out, I think I need a nap and then it will be back to writing!

I remember you mentioning the relocation to Northern Idaho, Cd'A, correct? I need to make a trip over to Spokane, probably this summer, to see my mom and will pass through the panhandle. I'll let you know when I make the trip and perhaps we can get the fly rods out or just have a cold beer!

Great trailer!  I'm looking forward to reading it!

Thanks Mike!

Thanks again for letting me post!

Yeah, when I first saw the trailer, it legitimately scared me. Hopefully some of the stories can live up to it!

Many thanks for your support guys. Spent some time in both hospitals and I'm always looking for new ways to give back. Hope you find something you like in my quicky batch of strange stories.

General Board / Boneyard Tales out today!
« on: January 25, 2022, 10:12:56 AM »

Hey guys, I finally put together a collection of my flash fiction and had it published by a small press in Texas. It's out today (print available in U.S. only but lots of eBook options).

https://linktr.ee/boneyardtales

I have quite a few fishing stories in there and some taking place in CA. That's not me on the cover, but rather one of my characters (and yes, that's a fly rod in his hand!).

Check out the terrifying trailer an editor friend made for me. Not every story in the collection is scary, but the trailer sure captures those that are.

Proceeds will be donated to the Shriners Children's Hospitals in Spokane, Washington, & Galveston, Texas, USA. Thanks to all of you who have supported my writing in the past, and thank you Tom for allowing me to post this.

I hope you are all well in CA. Beware the man with little yellow teeth in the boneyard!

I've used Little Chief my whole life and love it. They also make a Big Chief for those of you who catch the big fish or smoke big game.

We bought a large Samsung for our family room and an LG for the bedroom in 2016, from Costco. They've been great, but I guess the pre-2018 Samsung internet browsers aren't as capable (most people just download the apps, instead of looking things up old-school style on the browser, so no biggie). We bought a huge Samsung last year for my son, and it's been great (browser, if you use it, works fine). Funny, in just a couple years the prices dropped by about half. Good luck.

This is weird. I hadn't checked in there for ages, but I had a strange feeling yesterday something went awry. I visited the site only to see the message that it's shut down indefinitely!

That's too bad. So many good memories during the glory days, before the big SM platforms, and when people seemed better able to handle themselves on the internet. I'd like to hear the story of what happened someday.

I only caught the beginning of the downfall from when Glenn tried to prune moderators off the boards... Then it escalated very quickly and harshly a few months later. I'm sure someone here can elaborate with more details.

Great seeing you are doing well Mike.

Damn, sounds like a mess. That's really too bad. I enjoyed my time there and the people I met when I was active surf fishing.

I hope things are well on your end. I know I keep saying this, but I have to get some pics up (although I'm not sure I remember how anymore, lol).

Good to see you Mike!
I was on your site reading some stories the other day, soooo good!  8)

I wasn't able to make the move to Montana, but I got close, I'm up in Coeur d'Alene, ID now.  Love it up here!!
I'm going to have to hit you up for some flyfishing intel!

Thanks for keeping up with the stories, Chad! If things go as planned, I'll have a small collection of some of my favs published this year.

Good choice with CdA! I spent a good portion of my youth there visiting family. Awesome city. Pre-pandemic, I was passing through a couple times a year on my way to Spokane/Lake Chelan/San Juan Islands. I will let you know next time I head that way, hopefully this summer.
