Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / Re: Skunk -1 (+ a bonus day)

Thanks guys, I truly can't wait to start catching sharks again!  I keep telling myself to switch it up and go after perch, halibut, and calicos, but I always end up fishing the long rod for fear that I'll miss the big one LOL!

Joe, thanks for the tip!  I've never caught a round ray so I'll be sure to be super careful from now on!

Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / Skunk -1 (+ a bonus day)

Well I tried a new spot near the old spot in north VC on Friday night with my dad and brother.  Conditions were PERFECT, but no targets were acquired.

Only bite I got was a -1 that was unfortunate enough to get his lip over the point of my 12/0 circle hook.  I was desparate so I chopped him up and rebaited with chunks of thornback ray but no love there either.

My brother landed a couple of small tractors so I was happy that he caught something on his first time surf fishing.
I can't wait for the big game to come back!

To make up for the weak fishing, I took the family to the VC Fair on Saturday and we had a blast!

Maybe that Puckermouth just wanted a kiss?  :-*

It's making it's way up into a coined phrase status I see  8) :P

You need to trademark it Joe!

My work has this video off limits so I will have to see it when I get home, but is it the two dudes flying in the little boat through the small channels and almost gets beheaded?

No but that sounds crazy too!
It's actually hunting related and I just remembered there is a Hunting section on the forum so you can move it there if need be.

It's kind of cool not to know also I guess.
I saw a video recently of a sevengill being dressed out and when they cut open the stomach there as a 3 ft. leopard shark in it (chomped into 3 or 4 pieces).
...Maybe I'll keep my next legal Leo for bait???

Cool article and rad looking shark!
I'm curious to know, if they seem so lethargic and slow, how do they hunt/eat seals?  Ambush?  Do they pretend to be a floating log that the seal would want to rest on?
