Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / Re: Manhattan pier
« on: September 26, 2014, 12:59:16 PM »
Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your point of view, I didn't get taxed, nor did I see the tax man last night. Gone about 4 times this month and nada. But my buddy had an encounter last week with him, he seems to like live macks floated on top during grey light while thresher shark fishing, he brought him up to the pilings, seen him and cut him loose

Not sure if this will count for the shore fishing, but I think it'll be close enough. Any how decided to take the surf rods out and fish the pier, something I don't do as much anymore. Although we got to the pier fairly late, we easily loaded up on some macks, got a real nice 1, and slid him down via trolley rig, he some how turned into a nice 55" female leo, she cooperated easily, slid into the hoop net, snapped a pic and sent her back

Damn must of bin a fun session on the mini tunas, but I have a question when it comes to how you are preserving bait, you straight freezing the bait whole or chunked? As is, or cured? I'm very curious as u can see lol :D

Awesome job on the addition of the new species man. Puffers are always interesting, use to catch em all the time in Florida and Puerto Rico when I was younger, the jacks where the other, I'd hook some brutes off the docks on topwaters, and would get wrecked on my calcutta 401 and 65# power pro lol  :o

Sucks that you got owned by whatever it was, but doesn't that feeling just leave you in awe, that with what you had, and the experience, it just wasn't enough? Especially from shore? That's in itself is pretty damm awesome in my opinion. Sucks how many missed opportunities there were, but regardless, Congrats on the nice bass, hope they came out great, and looking forward to reading part II soon
