Catching a turtle while trout fishing kind of kicked me in the nuts that I had to get out there again and get me a birthday fish.
This time, that little stretch of shoreline was packed with people. Only issue is there was no one with any fish! Well, it wasn't exactly trout weather either being like 76 and all sun!

I'm sitting in my car when I hear the drag on my reel start to sing! I was in the middle of typing a post on my phone, so of course was distracted to see the initial bite. I was only using 2# test, so took my time. It was a jumper and a bigger model also. 3-4 pound class fish and really good looking from what I could see. I drew a crowd and on his 5th jump, bit through/broke the line. Ugh. Funny thing was the crowd acted more bummed than I was!
I was ready to head home with the skunk, when I figured I just give it a little longer. I noticed my line was completely slack, so started to get some line back and sure enough there was a trout at the end! It was a great fight and really pretty fish! Lots of color and the fins weren't beat up. My biggest issue was scooping him up with the net. I had no power in my left arm, so trying to use it seemed impossible, but I wasn't going home without a 50th fish!

About 10 minutes later and I get another one! Hot bite at noon I guess. hahaha
I actually get him to shore, but the net was too far away and I wasn't even sure I could grab it anyway. I slid him up on the dirt and the line snapped. I went to grab it, but grabbing a slimy trout one handed is almost impossible and it plunked back into the water, but oh well. One less fish for me to clean and I had it in my hands a few times.
That was it. I went home and had some c*cktails.

Today I get my second vaccination shot, so hopefully they still have enough to dish out.
