: Lunch break Fishing Carpinteria 20190816

First time on the sand in awhile.
Went down to the beach on my lunch break
Gear: Daiwa 7250RLA on a 5' UL Ugly Stik
Rig: Carolina rig, 5/8 oz. egg sinker, #8 octopus hook
Bait: Sand crabs

The first 30 minutes was clearing chopped salad from my line.
Finally found some clean water and had a good hit.
Little keychain leopard shark went for a couple nice runs and put up a fun fight on the light gear.

Next cast I got a nibble and then a few seconds later a good tug.  Set the hook on this little surf perch.

Definitely a good way to end the work week!

LOL, not too often.  Not a high priority right now.

I absolutely love seeing your restored old school reels getting used and catching fish!  Nice Chad!
