Despite the high winds I went to the IV hoping to restock the freezer. Tried several new waters and an old standby but the catfish were not in the mood. Big honking turtle was though.

Let it go as I didn't have anything to hold it in.

Nice softshell!  I've caught a few of them things in the past while catfishing! Nasty and fast buggers.

That's a big turtle. It's like catching an eel at the ocean.  ;)

2 things growing up in the swamps my Grandmother made that I never liked, turtle anything or duck anything.

Tried turtle soup several times and never did anything for me. Nowhere good enough to go through the cleaning hassle of them.

Soft shells are easier than snapper!  The only turtle I ever cleaned to eat.  What a pain and almost not worth the effort.
