Hanging around the house. Wife asks if I plan on sharking this weekend. As a matter of fact, I do now.
Texted Tom for some company. He's busy, so I roll solo.
Set up as the light fades. No surf, nice weather but the bottomed out tide isn't my favorite.
Test cast reveals no weeds to speak of, so things are looking up.
Soaked a few baits for nothing, then get a nice knockdown.
Grab the rod and it starts slowly bending. Set the hook and it's on.
Surface action right away said shark. Long runs said bat. Couldn't feel the usual tail action on the line, well maybe.
Not exactly sure what I have, I enjoy the fight and do my thing.
The thrashing in the skinny told the story. Seven gill. Sweet.
Get it on the beach. Stomach is out, and claspers are ready for action. Took a couple pics and did a decent measurement even though the damn thing wouldn't straighten out.
Got it back in the water pretty quick and off it swam.

Soaked another bait for nothing more and decided to call it early.
