I got some beach intel from a surfer buddy and it confirmed that a surf session was out. We decided to actually hit the bay and soak some baits.
Hot weather brings out the bikinis, and there was plenty of them out today.
I got bit 1 minute after my first cast and was on the board with a small shovelnose for +1. Steve then volleys with a smooth hound for +1. I volley with a round ray for still +1 points. Steve comes back with a slightly bigger smoothie for +2. Steve goes up with another something... or maybe he didn't. Since I didn't see it, I'll just call it a -1 from the seedy way Steve was acting after he got it to shore... for 1 point total. ;D
I then take the win with a small spotty for +2 total! Well, all depending on what Steve's 3rd fish was, but it was a fun trip as it has been a few weeks since getting out fishing. These guys would have made for great surf bait.
Otherwise, it was a great evening kicking it, while watching the sunset, drinking beer, fishing and chillin with friends.
Oh yeah, Ben.... Steve said something about catching smoothies.... "It's so easy baby!!!"

It is. I caught 3 fish equaling 2 points as one was the zero point ray. Steve had +2, but I was teasing him that he threw back a -1 before I could see it so said he's at +1. I miss the real grinners also......
