: Right species, wrong rod
: vdisney September 30, 2017, 12:06:59 PM
I've had the itch to catch a leo for a while now, haven't caught one since Jan '16.  Asked Tony if he wanted to try a morning session and he agreed.  Arrived to the beach while it was still dark and set up.  Squid on one rod and mackerel on the other.  Absolutely stellar conditions, zero grass and no wind.  Tony caught three small bats and then hung the right kind.  Tony=4  Verne=0

Hmmm. Bat rays I expect on squid but always preferred mack for leppos.

Great job on the Leo Verne, even if it was the wrong rod. Great to see you long rodding again!
