Central Coast, The Next Day 8/10/15
« on: August 10, 2015, 06:26:11 PM »
Last day at my folks. Departure timing is critical to hit LA between rush hours.

Had to kill a few hours while the family slept.

Hit the second spot from yesterday. I remember now that my go to spot produces much better at high tide.

Weather was drizzling and cool. Maybe 60-61. Water temp was a balmy, for here, 61. Put on the usual flannel and hoody over board shorts and bare feet.

Started prospecting with the grub. So many sandcrabs they hurt my feet and felt like marbles hitting my ankles as the waves went in and out.

I stated getting bit right away. Small taps of the micro perch so I make a short move.

Couple casts in and I get slammed. Drag peeling off and everything. Toad 16" perch. Sweet.

Not much after that so I make a short move to a nice looking hole.

That was the ticket. For an hour it was non stop bites. Fish on every cast. Really.

All sizes. 3" that looked like one of jkim's lures up to some 14" models. Mostly nice sized 10-11" fish.

It is as a blast.

Left them biting because I was freezing.

Went back to my folks, loaded the family, and hit the road.

Not only was Neptune smiling at me on the beach but h put in a good word with the traffic angel and I sailed through LA no problem.

You should have brought your cooler.  That is some cold water fresh bait right there!

Well done Squatch.  8)
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
