For the first time in 3 weeks, I felt likt my back was better to try a little fishing. I didn't want to push things, so I decided to take the boat to the lake and start small. I met Dave down at Jennings and he cursed us for the entire trip... :o ;D
Beautiful morning... you could tell it wasn't trout weather, but we would make due... Crap, I forgot my fish finder of all things, so we had to do it the old school way.
First cast and within 1 minute, Dave is on! A few minutes later and he gets a 1-3/4 lb trout on the boat. just then he says "Might as well go home. Probably the last fish we see all day."
The First Cast Curse strikes again... It was the only fish and we didn't see any puddlers, but they just stocked on Wednesday, so there is a big ball of fish somewhere in that lake! Unfortunately, I couldn't find them without my sonar since they all apparently stayed deep, but I have to admit, this was the sweetest skunk to date. 3 weeks out of commission made this trip all the more pleasing.
Going to try it again tomorrow and see if I could redeem myself. Skunk once is K, but now I need my fix!

I actually have video of Dave fighting the fish, so I may post it here just for his amusement.

There is no rush and it's an easy lunch in a pond. Trying again with Steve today. 8)
