After considering the tides, events and moon phases of all the nights in March and it looks like March 12th would be the best. There is a marathon in the morning on the 12th AND the 19th, so it doesn't matter there.
Here are the details for the 12th.
On Saturday, 12th of March of 2016, the sun will rise in San Diego at 6:01 am and sunset will be at 5:55 pm. The moon will rise in the east (76º) at 8:42 am and will set in the west (286º) at 10:18 pm.
In the high tide and low tide chart, we can see that the first low tide will be at 5:27 am and the next low tide at 5:24 pm. The first high tide will be at 11:35 am and the next high tide at 11:46 pm.
The lunar phase will be a Waxing Crescent. We will have 11 hours and 54 minutes of sun. The solar transit will be at 11:58 am and the length of time the moon will be visible will be 13 hours and 36 minutes.
Besides much better tides, the time change happens that night so we get a little more evening and much better time to bat fish. I am making the appropriate changes to the logo and will have the SNBFIX information out shortly!
