Sometimes it works out that I get to fish on Thursday.
Decided to check out my secret spot. Never done real well here, but I usually catch something, and it is easy to get to, so I keep trying.
Arrived to small surf, few surfers and reasonable amount of weeds.
Set up early, before the surfers left, since there were only 3 out there.
Second cast get bit. Long straight pull. Bat for sure. Buttoned the drag and got to work. Broke my leader right at the swivel. Bummer, I'm low on sinkers.
Short time later, I get a very recognizable bite. Quick bounce then a run. Haven't seen this one in awhile.
Quick fight and I land a decent leopard.
Also got a cool time lapse video a lady took. Funny to watch, but, remember, it's a secret spot,
Not much happened after that. Ran through a few baits and enjoyed the evening.
Ended up getting one more before I called it for the night.
Maybe 50? Didn't measure. It was already upside down, so I just pulled the hook, flipped it and off it went. Barely even got slimed.
Took the early shuttle back to the old folks home.
Oh, yeah, those bait stealers aren't all lobsters.
