In search of teeth
« on: June 30, 2015, 07:39:55 AM »
Went out earlier than usual so I can scout some new spots, and mainly escape this kelp.
Even brought 2 long rods to soak, bait was macks on the heavy, with squid on the 2nd.
Found a great spot just before sunset, with chocolate water north and south, so I was worried I may be kelped out in a few hours. Luckily that never happened. Neither did the right bites either.
Got some lobster, got some eels (that really pissed me off) and a few chunky calicos, including 1 that choked down my rig, so I invited it to dinner for my bro. The calico was full of red crab btw. Even got checked on by dfg, that's twice in 2 weeks, cool to see there more active down here.
FIshed from 8ish till 1 am.

I'm so glad you are getting to play with eels and could feel some of their pain they bring! Lol

Glad you got out on a scouting mission. These summer hours, crowds and kelp have me disheartened a little. At least if the kelp moves off, it may be more fishable.

Nicely done

Not sure what's worse, eels or bats. Both are better than skunk though! Might hit the surf tonight with Binh.
