As the title says, please post any and all fishing reports. For the foreseeable future I will be fishing vicariously thru all such things. On Wednesday I had a heart attack and had 3 stints installed. The cardiologist said I was lucky it didn’t kill me. I have been released from the hospital and have been doing and feeling well. Just unsure when walking the beach and fishing will be allowed again. Thanks in advance for any and all reading material you guys can provide.

Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / Found a few today. 6/24/23

Great trip on the beach this morning. Small surf made for an enjoyable day. All
to few of them in the weekends when I can fish this year. This ended up being my best day this year in the sand so far. First fish was a legal Hali, on cast 3. Figured it was close enough that I might have triggered the infamous “first cast curse”. Fortunately, the fish gods were in a good mood and a dozen or so casts later got legal hali # 2. Thus began a steady pick on Hali’s and WSB. Ended up landing 7 halibut and 6 WSB including a nice 31” legal WSB. All fish but 1 halibut came from the same spot, indeed standing on the same rock at the same spot.  All in all, an excellent day on the water.

Hit the surf this morning in Malibu for lake like conditions, but cold as a witch’s T*T. 44 degrees is darn cold in surf booties and board shorts. Managed 1 10-12” rat calico and a decent 18-19” Halibut so at least I avoided the “Walk of shame” back to the car.

What I found curious was they said the hook was found near the shark. The hook also has no fishing line on it so probably wasn't involved in the sharks demise. Sounds like someone planted it there to make a point. Too bad they are implicating the shore fisherman...
Also the hook was huge!

Just my two cents worth...

Actually it does have a steel leader attached to it. Zoom in on the eye, and you can see it on the backside of the eye and you can see it and big swivel in the background behind the hook.
