The wife is basically working at a Pharma CRO Sweat Shop and had to stay late. I was working on the house and shuttling my kid around hoping she would get back in time for me to head out fishing. She finally got home and after eating dinner, felt like falling asleep. It was getting late and I tried talking myself out of going, but manned up and hit the road.
I stopped by my one beach just to see the tide epically high and no beach to fish from. I saw S.O.S smoke signals on the horizon and realized it must be the Rasta calling any shark hunters in, so I moved to the beach where Rasta was set up. I took a different spot in hopes the beach would not disappear, and was fortunate to have some dry sand (albeit only by a foot or two) to fish the big sand flat that recently appeared. Binh's already on the sand and Mike shows up to see the 3 of us fishing his hole. LOL
I'll get to the point... I had a few bites and one small knockdown before I hear Josh yell, "Mike's hooked up" and he ran down to assist him. I was contemplating heading down, but with my luck my rod would get hit soon as I started walking so I stayed. Glad I did....
BOOM! I get a wicked hit and was there to set the hook in it! It rushed the beach and then rushed to the nearest reef. The drag was buttoned and thankfully Binh was there to assist in the landing of the nice soupfin. (Thanks boss!)
68.5" - Female - Outgoing - Mackerel - New MoonThat was it for me. One more cast while I said good bye and I headed for the barn. It was worth the trip and another one on the boards!
Mike ended up with a 65" and we basically had a double header on that took us in opposite directions.
Thanks guys and Thanks for reading
Until next tide!
