SB Leo
« on: November 22, 2017, 12:28:35 AM »
Met up with Chad in VC, gave it a couple hours without a bump but conditions were stellar...decided to try a new spot he’d been scoping out up in SB to see if one of us could put the first SB shark on the board...nothing for the board but wasn’t a total loss...got this 55” Leo later in the night...still trying to find a site I can figure out how to post pics from my cell phone..Chad, if this doesn’t show, post up the pic for me would ya?

Good seeing you again Joe!  We'll get an SB shark for the list soon, I think this spot has good potential.
Here's your leo.

Nice session guys!  We fished last night and I was pretty confident even with the lack of bites, but the Squatch was ready to go.  I would have been thrilled with a big 55" leopard!  Nice one Joe!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Luckily I have a 5 day weekend, but not really meaning to, fell asleep 😴 in my truck last night after long rodding. Woke up this morning and decided as long as I’m here I might as well go back down to the beach and give the LC a few casts...boom! Halibut for T-Day

More jealous of that halibut than the leopard, and it is a nice leopard.

What bait are you using for the Leo's? You have put some big ones on the sand. I have just been getting the the baby's all under 12" on the critter rod and would love to get a nice sized one. They don't seem to touch my long rod.

You have to stop with the double hook drop rig and go with either a fish finder or better yet a 3' 3 way with at least a 10/0 hook and a serious chunk of bait, preferably a nice juicy mac head or bonito head.

Big bait, big fish ;D

I love that double drop, just need to make them longer. I think I am going to make up a 6 foot one ;D

A double drop shot with squish head gets all sorts of attention.

Just not from big grinners.
