Well, we hit the surf looking for critters since the BOMA is out of operation. The beaches are PACKED, but we tried anyway.
The kelp and eel grass was horrible as loads of cabbage was sweeping bye with the current. It was totally unfishable for an hour before a clearing opened up! We saw a girl get stung by a sting ray and saw lots of those evil water mines swimming around.
Very little action, but we were getting into magic hour!
Just as the sun was setting the kelp came back in force. I'm talking tackle losing kelp...
We made a move and actually found a weedless spot and set up. I wish we would have stayed longer as it looked really fishy, but Steve gave it the 30 minute timer and we wanted to see who would go home skunked.
I struck first with a Zero fish.
Steve struck on his last reel in with a minus 1,
Needless to say it was a super slow session, but it would have been worth it if I could have spent another few hours out there.
1+1=-1
I can't wait until the crowds go home...
