Nor'East Style Tuesday Night Fishing (5/1)
« on: May 02, 2018, 07:50:56 AM »
Chilly mid to low 50's...

Strong SW wind blowing a constant 10-20 knots...

Light rain, drizzle and a hard blowing mist all evening...

Very little to no vegetation in the water...

Big Incoming tide...

Super strong rip current...

Full Moon Grunion Run...

Birds diving everywhere!

I felt like we were Bluefish and Striper fishing back in Brigantine!

I thought we were going to have a great night since conditions were lousy.  The current was the worst as it was pulling the legs on the sputniks when it started ripping.
I got one ray bite, but missed it.  Steve then had one which was a "No Doubt Bat Ray" hit and run.
Steve gets in a 4 foot wingspan Mud Marlin...  And that's all she wrote.  We stayed until 10, but there were no surfers out, so got an early start.  Oh, there was also a red tide as the waves were glowing blue.  Pretty cool to watch.

I have pictures, but might get them up later.

Thanks for reading.

You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Yeah, the forecast call for rain, but it was just misty and windy out. Glad to see a little wind didn't stop you guys from fishing. Hopefully,
this warming trend will bring out more sharks.
