Surf Sharking 2021
« on: May 19, 2021, 07:13:49 AM »
I'm puzzled with the low numbers or absolute lack of surf sharks in 2021 so far.  Has it been just dead out there or just no one's been out looking?  I won't be cleared to big shark fish until September, so plan on getting the time in, but would have expected to see quote a few this spring.  I've even noticed it's been fairly slow on the piers and Instagram for Soupie's and Sevengills, but looks like the Threshers have been very active.

Just let me know as I want to see if this is more of a cyclical event or just less attempts for them... or possibly both?

Cheers!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I personally have only gone soaking a few times this year. Just getting off too late from work most evenings, alongside using most of my days off to use the boat. Also realized after several months that MagicSeaweed was giving bad info on the wind saying it was gale force at the beach when it wasn’t.

Personally, the draw of 40% off beer has sapped my motivation to go solo.
