Super long post. Had to take care of some things in the am and after I was done, I have a handful of time before work. Hit up the homie around noon and he asked me when’s the next time I’m fishing. I wasn’t sure but made a the call then and there that I was going to go get bait. On the way to shelter, I asked him if he wanted to try the jetty. We got there and fished for about an hour. Actually got to the jetty around 11. Threw out a ray pole and then Mack pole. No bites on the Mack pole so I switched t to drop shot. No bites on that either. My big pole was having critter bites and it had one nice bite, but no sticks. We decided to move to shelter. I tried the beginning of the pier hoping for Hali’s on the drop shot but no bites. Second cast in I had the cut end of a line. I was like what the heck, I’ll pull this thing out. After 3-4 tries, I get the line good enough and I pull up one of those Walmart Hali rigs and there’s a stingray on the end! Lol I wonder why it snapped off. We move to the middle of the pier and my friend hooks onto 18 inch Hali give or take an inch. Released it of course. Right when I was ready to call it because no one and I mean no one was catching any Mack’s around 2. I wanted to beat traffic and take a nap before work. As soon as I cut my line, the person next to me pulls in a Mack. I quickly tie again and soon enough fish on. We ended up fishing till 330 and had at least 40-50 Mack’s easy, ohh also probably my pb jack smelt. I had three hooks and most the time it was 2-3 Mack’s on the other end. We left while the bite was still hot because I had to be at work by 4. I hit up Kam_Walsh98 and my same friend during work and asked them if they wanted to shark last night. They said yes. My friend and I arrived on the beach around 12. Not too much seaweed and not that much rip current. Set up two poles and then set up the chum. Soon enough I get a nice size Leo. This thing had some beautiful patterns to it. My friend gets a thorn back. While I was casting out my friends pole, my pole is going off, and I mean going off! I’m waist deep walking back and my friends freaking out. Not too much experienced with conventional so he didn’t want to pick it up. By the time I get to my pole it has less than a quarter of my line. I pick it up and as I’m about to set the hook, I snaps. I was so pissed. I was cussing yellling. Kam arrives literally right after this happened. I wiped off my shoulders and told myself that’s fishing. Kam hooks onto the last fish of the night. It’s a fat preggo batray with at least a 50-60 wing span. This thing was huge! He said it almost spoiled him. Going to try and get the pictures for that one. Salad was kinda bad, but manageable. As we were calling it at 335 am, the water looked even more fishier. Sad to leave when conditions were getting better. Sorry for the long post. Until next time guys. Tight lines. My friends working on a fishing video of the whole day. When it’s ready, I’ll post it up.

Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / Definitely a fun night out
« on: May 20, 2018, 01:34:06 PM »
Hit the water last night around 950/10 pm with kam. He had the first bite around 1030. He was able to bring it about 10-15 ft away and it spat the hook out. Around 10:40 I start scoping the surf with my big spot light and was pretty far from my pole. I glance at my pole and it’s taking line. I sprint to my pole and , I hook onto this smaller 7gil. This one literally swam straight to me so I was able to bring it in fast. I gut hooked it, so I had to release it as fast as possible. Around 11, Kam gets another hit. Hes fighting this one for a bit, and it pops the hook off around 10-15 ft away again! At this point I can feel kams pain. About 1120, I see my pole dancing from afar. No line being taken out but pole twitching. Look into the surf and see some splashes. Again, I ran to my pole, set the hook, and it feels like it’s swimming to me. I’m reeling this as fast as I can and it pops the hook off. Seriously?!?!? Again?!?!? About 12:20kam hooks onto a beast. He’s fighting his shark and for sure gets the hook to stick. I get a small hit during his battle and missed it. When he brought his shark to the shore, I was afraid that I was going to miss the shark and it snaps off. I would hate to be the reason he lost his third chance of getting his first 7gill from the surf. We get it in and this things a beast. Around 1am I get which is the last shark and the biggest of the night. This guy was big and I mean big. He was pulling me around and pulling drag with a fully tighten drag on my reel. This guy goes and tangles all our lines. The beast goes for a few runs and Im finally able to get it in. I measured my pole and compared it to the photos. My smaller one was around low 5 ft. The big one was around 84/86 inches. No for sure measurements, but definitely happy with the sizes we caught last night. Haven’t had a night light this, so glad that I finally came across one. These guys are definitely a work out. When shark fishing, keep in mind that they usually run in packs. So once you land one, make sure to rebait/Retie and be ready! Till next time! I’m sure he’s going to post up all the pics. Quick question for the admins. If he post my pictures of my fish on his post, does it still count to my numbers?

Another one! Alright guys. Pm report from last night. Hit up one of my buddies spots at 730. First bait out around 745. Was gettin a few nibbles and small runs so assuming the critters were out. Around 930 I reel in my rod. Slowly recalling it and I’m thinking I have seaweed. All of a sudden the line goes stiff and i feel head shakes. This beast goes for multiple runs and long runs. I’m feeling my reel getting hot and I mean hot! Time to have this beast down. My buddy, my fiancé, and I start running down the beach. I’m over here cranking as fast as I can while running. Getting tired and I know this guy is. Was able to beach this guy about 30 minutes after hook up. Got him at the very corner of his lip. Perfect hook set. Friend dragged it up and I dragged it back down to release. God that guy was heavy. Must’ve been around 140-150 pounds. Taped out at 88-89 might’ve been 90 just because the fish wasn’t completely straight. My new pb. If anyone could help me out with picture posting that would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

Hit up a new spot for both me and Jerry. Line in the water around 630. Tossed out half a Mack and kept getting critter bites for the first hour and also tossed around a few jerkbaits for nothing. Around 8, I move my spike to a different spot and noticed a soft shell sand crab crawl out where I stuck the ground. Toss out my big pole and headed back to my gear andset up a Carolina rig for the sand crab. Right when I was about to tie my hook, I look at my rod and it’s taking line. Run about 20 ft to my rod, set my hook and fish on! First thing I see is a tail whip. Two minutes later half of its body comes out the water. About 15-20 minutes later I’m able to bring it in. The homie immediately recognized that it was a 7 Gil. He helps me pull in in and guides me exactly what to do. Taped out at 67 inches! So stoked for my first 7gil! Had to chop off the wire leader. Set up again and here comes the waiting game. Finished setting up my Carolina rig and 5 minutes later hook onto this little guy around 9. This guy was probably around 20 inches. Idk what species if you guys can help out. Around ten I hook onto this ray. Gives some good runs. This one was a little hard to beach. Taped out at 35.5inches. Definitely one of my favorite spots now. Ended the night at the batray meet up. It was nice to meet everyone. nothing but good vibes. Hopefully I could get out there and fish with you guys in the future!
