Flat Stanley (9/30)
« on: September 30, 2014, 09:39:24 PM »
After checking out 3 beaches loaded with kelp, we decided to just make a bay run and hope for the best.
My cousin out in NJ asked me if I could help her son out with his "Flat Stanley" project and take him on some of my journeys out west and I was more than happy to oblige.

Slim Shady ready for action...

Thin Lizzy ready to bait up!

Skinny Joe ready to lift a boat from someone!

We hit a random area of the little bay and had a long wait before my rod went screaming out with a nice bat ray run!  After 10 minutes, he made a big turn and was gone just like that!  Ugh...

Now that's where your problem is!!!!  Tooth plates will get you every time!

The bite was slower than slow, but Steve finally got on the board with a bass.

He actually made it legit with a last minute bat to give Flat Stanley a cardboard woody!

...wait, here he is...

Anyway, it was a slow, but productive evening.  I didn't win in the fishing category, but I won in a walking bet and even shaved off a minute... but that is a story for another time.

Great fishing with you Steve.  Until next week....

Tight Lines.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I really thought the walk would take longer. You had the timing nailed.

That stupid bat fought a lot bigger than he turned out to be, but it was nice to pull on something decent.

That's hilarious. I've had to do the flat stanley thing too, but my pics weren't nearly as fun.
