I bought it like 4 years ago and have yet to use it.  I'm pretty sure it's a 12" and definitely pre-seasoned.

I bought a Dutch oven after seeing all of your terrific food posts, but still have yet to use it.  I may have to finally give it a try this weekend!

Well I'll be damned!  Right on Theresa!  Bravo!

Verne, you definitely caught a keeper as well!

(Look for this on the front page of the website probably tomorrow)

Yep, that's Red Tide Verne.  At night, it's gorgeous blue.  During the day, the real view comes in as diarrhea.

Glad you got out and it all worked.  I was wondering how the recovery was coming along, but getting out i the boat means there's been some great progress!
Thanks for sharing Verne.  If you went out at night in that stuff, it would be so bright it casts shadows.

Just think how much cheaper those veggies would be at Ralph’s.

It's about the same if I shopped for all organic.  The tomatoes alone actually save me a lot of money ...and I don't have to deal with the beggars at the entrance and the lane hogging Karen's in all of the isles.  I like to call it a wash. lol

After the skunk fiasco in the morning, I realized it was going to be a late start.  Still got down at a reasonable time and found a busy SS ramp and a lot of trailers in the lot.

PB was looking great and got word from my buddy that a guy who rented his boat got a 50# WSB in PL.  I rarely go south, but wanted to see what I can see.  The only thing I wasn't going to fish for today was rockfish.  I wanted YT, WSB, Hali, or bass.  I made plenty of perfect sized bait in PB and headed to LJ.  Muddy waters... Red Tide....  Diarrhea....

I couldn't find any clean water so decided to run up the coast a bit to TP or DM and get away from the LJ flotilla.

Stopped at some locals spots on the way up to DM and caught a handful of bass along the way.

Sun finally burst through and the AF was conducting some low level chopper fly byes!

Ran up to DM reef and found a good number of TR's.

I did hook two halibut while drifting macks.  Both felt like I got hung up on reef and I just slowly cranked in hoping the hook would sink in.  I got one legal up next to the boat, but it was a 26" fish on 60#.  Unfortunately it was just a hitch hiker and opened it's mouth and just swam off.

Next one I thought was a bite, but felt like I was hung up.  I started pulling and it came free.  I reel up my mack looking like it was shredded with deep teeth marks on both sides of the bait!  Damn it!

Oh well.  I kept releasing a slow pick of bass before heading back to the barn. All the water that was clean was quickly starting to change to a TJ toilet bowl on a Saturday night.

So I took one back for dinner since he had a hook in his belly, but the boat ran great and it just felt good squeezing the last of the Covid out of me into the fresh air.

Thanks for reading and until the next Red Tide!

Before bed last night I decided to check the garden and low and behold....  teenage skunks in there and I watched them squeeze right through my fence!  NO BUENO!

Wife won't let me shoot them, so I spent today adding some extra security for the stinky kind.

2 feet of 1" chicken wire along the base should keep them from squirting through, but I won't know for sure until tomorrow.  Oh please god... I'm done with these urban garden bandits!

f@ck.  I had the boat hooked up and ready to leave when I decided to check the trap...  I was like yeah!  I caught a Racoo......... SKUNK!?!?!?  Noooooo!

I told my wife that I was going to throw and blanket over it and take care of it when I get home....  That didn't get translated well, and I realized I needed to gown up and prepare for a dousing.  In all my years dealing with animals, I've never had to deal with a live skunk.  I heard they were nightmares, so I just decided to grab my waders, Raincoat, and a face shield.

I took my time and was very quiet moving it so it wouldn't spray.  I even put it in a 55-gallon drum so the stench wouldn't permeate the truck.

Thankfully it never sprayed and I let him go about 3 miles from the house.  Time to reload the truck and get the boat out fishing!

I'm going to call you Tim "The Rainmaker".  Wherever you go, you bring the drizzle.  Dave brings the Dark Cloud and you bring the precip.  lol

Nicely done on the turd roller.  Yep, would have been a better choice to go for rockfish, bt it probably felt good fishing for other stuff.

Bummer about….well literally almost everything in this post. Hope the fresh air was worth it at least.
It was... That and I brought a few strong beers in with me.

I'm using all of this to make some sort of turn.  I think since I now have my end date for my work, I might make one last big push for Prehistoric Soul.  That and I plan on USING some days mid-week to actually fish instead of being imprisoned like I have been the last few years.
