: Fish Cleaning Station
: Latimeria February 27, 2016, 09:23:00 AM
For years, I've been using the saw horses and a wood board to clean my fish.  Recently, my buddy Karry Batson just made a fish cleaning station for himself and it lit a fire under my ass to finally get one made.  I saw I had a bunch of scrap wood around as well as a pallet, so decided to get to work.  I ran out for a few essentials.... Ballast Point, supports and some more screws before getting to work.

I sawed a pallet in half to be used as the legs of the station.

I added screws for extra support.

Started framing it up with cross bar support.

Taking the "Wiggle" out of it.

Super cheap "Top" wood.

I wanted the waster to pour through so it would also dry better and not rot in a weeks time.

Looks like a picket fence...

Not any more!

Just need a few side walls to keep the fish from sliding off and one more cross member to add the final support...

Done and ready to start processing some fish!

I have a 7 gallon bucket for scraps that fits perfectly underneath, but it's been a long time coming.
Now it's just time to get some fish on the table!

You could always cut a hole at the other end of the table and place the bucket underneath. Then you can just slide the carcass/scraps thru the hole and into the bucket.

Thought of that and decided against it.  I wanted the usable space to hold the fish/fillets on the table.  Just as easy to slid the carcasses off and into the bucket.   8)

How much do you charge to fillet and vacuum seal my catch? You could use the heads for shark bait.  ;)
