A buddy from work invited me to go out on his boat.
I met up with him at his house at 5am and we were on the water by 6. A little late start imo but what are you gonna do.
First stop was an oil rig right out of long beach.
He started tossin a flat fall while I was throwing a kroc.
He picked up a little bass on it which was a bit of a surprise.
It was absolutely wide open on the kroc. I was getting macks and cuda on just about every cast. Though they were on the small side.
At one point the cuda began boiling 20 ft. from the boat.
We both switched to big hammers and picked up a mixture of small calicos and sand bass.
We headed to The Wall, shut off then engine and used the trolling motor to take us down parallel with the rocks.
We both fished BH's, the fish here you deffinately had to work for.
we got a mixture of calicos and sand bass, mostly small..
I dumped a nice 2lb sandie right at the boat which I was a bit bummed about but this bigger one stuck
We both eye balled it and agreed it was between 3 1/2 to 4lbs.
Couldn't believe how dark he was, must have been sitting in the rocks for some time
Chris competes in the SWBA so he wanted to fish the docks and some pilings in the bay.
We did and picked up a mixture of calicos and sand bass.
That sums it up. Lots of fish but on the small side.
Fun trip overall.
On a side note, I finally gave my curado 300ej a
propper home.
Put it on a phenix M1 and was very happy with it. Gona pick up another one soon.
