Walleye 11/5
« on: November 07, 2021, 07:25:50 PM »
Went out on Friday to make some perch for bait for upcoming shark trips. Went over to Torrance midday with a 3' swell forecast. Turned out to be 4-6' waves, not too much current though. Fished for 90 minutes for the first walleye surfperch I've seen in maybe 10 years.

Think I got one other bite. Felt good to throw the c-rig though. Replaced my old 7'6" Clarus earlier this year with a 9'6" Fenwick HMX and this is only the 2nd time I've used it. Despite the adverse wave action, it was a very tranquil session. Made me feel like I should fish for perch more often.

That's a nice sized Walleye to boot!  Yeah, this is a high energy swell that's been hitting us pretty good.  I'm unfortunately stuck at home on kid duty the next few days, so I can't even get out and see myself.  Hopefully it doesn't bring all the chopped salad and purple death down here.  I was thinking of trying Saturday night if you wanted to come down, but just want to check conditions as the week progresses.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Love the Walleye, they pull real hard.

One morning the LBC was fishing Aliso Beach.

JRB and I were fishing this one spot and we caught close to 50-75 Walleye.

It was addicting and we could not move, it was too much fun.
