Offshore Hunting (7/23)
« on: July 24, 2022, 09:09:59 AM »
I'll keep this short and sweet considering, but Tuna are all down by the 425 and south.  Unfortunately, my boat can't make that run.  I got a call from a buddy to go on his boat, but I already made plans with Squatch to look at the local offshore scene.

It wasn't paddy spotting weather, but we happened across one.  Looked totally dry except for a Mola and maybe a Blue Perch or two.  We tried everything anyway with no luck.  Before we left to continue trolling, I tossed the GoPro underwater to see if we missed anything when I got home to review the footage.  Any guesses if we missed anything?  Yep, you are probably correct.

I'll upload the video later...

We trolled in what seemed like lifeless seas only to run into lifeful areas full of terns and bait, but no gamefish.

We saw dolphin, Minke Whales.... and in the distance thought we saw more dolphin, and we were correct!  Only the fish version and they were jumping everywhere!

I'll just let the video speak for itself as you can guess what the outcome is....

Mola video is awesome. YT sighting sucks, and dorado are lame.

All that is secondary to the fact that you took a picture with my winning fish and are just barely not claiming it as your own.

Good to see you in person again. Been awhile.

Video came out much better than what I saw last night.

That’s every paddy right now. Even free swimming Mola are holding fish. They just won’t bite!

Good efforts and great footage. Glad others are sharing my frustrations
Keep it tight

Good to know they're in range. Nice pelagic, Steve.
