LB Jetty sesh 4/4, ID needed

Really had to get out the house.

Left at 12, picked up a case of beer and headed out.

Arrived at 72 st. jetty and made the walk to the very end.

Got there and cracked open the first beer.

I tied on a 1oz Kroc, grabbed my beer, looked up and saw this

Very young kid, He got it to flip and it was full of water. At this time the wind was blowing him right into the rocks.
I put my camera down and made my way to the waters edge. I met him there and the boat went right into the rocks. It was a minor collision. At no time was I concerned about his safety, he had his life vest on and I wasn't gona let anything happen to him.

His not much older buddy brought the boat over and got him away from the rocks,

The kids were making there way out and the sail boat flipped again. Same process over and over and now they were getting pretty close to the sand. I guess word got out and 2 boats sped towards the shore to provide assistance. A total of 3 sail boats ended up getting towed out.

The conditions were not even that bad. It was just your typical windy/choppy day out there.

Cracked a few more beers and began chucking the Kroc.

Ended up getting 3 of these

Ended up snappin off the Kroc, went to retie another and dropped it inbetween the rocks. That was that. No more left so I tied on a big hammer.

This was the result

Can someone tell me what it is??

Drank more beer not in a hurry to do anything.

Started casting again and got this

I did get one good hook up. It had some good weight to it but I ended up pulling the hook when I got it close to the rocks. Never did see it.

That was it. Nothing serious, just wanted to get away and relax...

Interesting day for sure man, and that red 1 is a sculpin, scorpion fish, rattler etc... poisonous spines, hurts pretty bad, similar to a real bad bee sting from what I hear

Those pics bring back memories of sailing school off Waikiki. Only diff was intentionally trying to capsize boats LOL. We would race Lasers, and have one guy on the tiller and another up by the mast. Goal was to jump to another boat (hopefully crewed by chicks) then swing your momentum over on their mast and capsize the boat.  :D :D  You would stand on the centerboard to Right the ship ... ghad fun times!!!

Oh yeah ... nice bait too ..  8)

Yeah I haven't had the pleasure but my dad got hit by one's spines. Stings like a bitch it seems, but nothing compared to a bat ray I'm sure. Very first fish my noobie buddy caught out of Kings Harbor, brought it swinging in to catch it, and I grabbed the line. Cool catches, too bad slime sticks have a min size reg :D!

Nice session Eric and great pics!  Getting pricked by those rattlers sucks.  Not extreme pain, but a sharp pain at first followed by a nagging swelling.  H2O2 right away helps alleviate a lot of it, especially over the long term.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
