Plan was to trout fish with Dave and Squatch. I brought a few bass rods just in case as it was a HOT day! 92 on my car thermometer.
Got to the lake and decided to take a long hike. Dave does not like the long hikes, but he made it with thoughts of trout limits.
We get down to the shoreline and Steve says.. "There's a fish". Sure enough a bass was just sitting there.
I pitched a creature bait at him and I got some interest. 2nd cast and BAM! On the board and No skunk today!
Fishing was impossible otherwise, so we kept moving and found a place to finish out the morning at. I hooked up, but lost it on the inflated crawler. We saw a few trout swim by that we could not get to commit on fly-lined crawler or tube jig. There were also 3 bass (decent grade) that were cruising back and forth just driving us crazy. They had ZERO interest in everything we offered.
I finally saw some huge Bluegill and Dave was kind enough to get on the board with one. I think it's a Red Ear and not a Bluegill even though it doesn't have red on the ear.
Dave was determined to catch one of those bass, but they mocked him! lol
We called it at Noon with only Squatch that was left to catch a fish. Dave's Black Cloud over his head not only spread over the mighty Sasquatch, but pretty much shut the entire lake down. lol
If you see this man at your local fishing hole, just turn around and go home as his Bad Luck Cloud can shut a feeding frenzy down! lol
Seriously though, it was a fun morning out there with great peeps.
