: Striped bass and sauteed vegetables
: spideyjg July 05, 2016, 09:54:09 PM
First try with this species. Went a bit overboard and dumped all the vegetables onto half the fish I cooked. Don't cook when you are really hungry.  :-[ Can't go wrong with sauteed onions, bell pepper, mushrooms and green onions on anything.

Jury is still out but this is a really mild fish. Not bad but sort of like good vanilla ice cream.

Definitely a fish for those who don't like fish.

Stripe bass is pretty good. Used to eat them up North (SF), though gotta watch the contamination levels from that bay LOL.

x2

They make for great mock- crab cakes... butterfly them and stuff them with crab meat ... lots of ways to cook them, but yes.  Very mild fish.  Looks good Jim!

Kinda reminds me of the Vietnamese Basa which is a catfish but is so mild it lacks any character like American catfish.
