Family Funday (01-04-16)

Boys have been begging to go fishing and finally the wife relented! We had a small window to fish with the wife and I being sick and wanting to avoid the cold weather.

Hit the bay by 1pm and home by 5pm. Armed with squid, mack, and shrimp. One long rod and a critter rod for the boys. It was slow and very cold, even with a fire. We managed a lone spottie, but it was a good one at I'm guessing 16-18" that the boys reeled in. Made my trip! Had a couple pick ups on the long rod, but that was it.

Your kids even look cold!  lol

Nice spotty and glad you got out.  You're so good at being a dad that I can see 4 or 5 more kids in your future!  :o

Thanks for the kind words Tom. As fellow parent, you know it's a labor of love. 3 is enough for me though.

I wish I caught fish that size when I was that age.

Too bad you didn't hook a 50+" bat that outing. The kids probably would have been floored seeing that.

They absolutely would have!! That was my goal! But like a kid, I just love catching and watching others catch fish... from bait to tuna, fishing is awesome!!
