Fished for almost 2 hrs and got over 40, between 2 people.

Spent time on the Mission Bay jetty for nothing.

A skunking on a bait making trip is painful.

Try a small bait cage with the sabiki. You can buy them but I've seen homemade ones built out of tea balls, drilled pvc, etc. Fill it with catfood. You'll attract a school in no time if they're in the area. I also cut my sabikis in half so they're easier to manage and because I'm cheap.  ;D

Wide open Mac fishing on the incoming tide at OB Pier last night. Use a size 1 or 2 J hook on the left side. Caught about 30 macs in one hour using a single hook and rod. Grunion are also running at OB too.
